My great- grandad sold produce over a century ago, in fact, l spoke to somebody a little over a decade ago who told me that my great-great-grandfather was the first person to ever sell’em in our part of Penna.. (In order to sell ’em he gave them away at first,because they were completely unknown.
Bananas weren’t the least bit better 35 yrs. ago either,& my Grandmother usually bought hers as green as grass, and got them to ripen by putting them in a PAPER bag.
Fold the top over & wait 24 hrs. or so, but watch the bananas closely; when they start to ripen they do so somewhat rapidly.
