A Mondegreen is indeed relegated to a song or poem, but it is unencumbered by requiring sense. For example, the reverse Mondegreen song “…liddle lamzy divy” (little lambs eat ivy) makes no sense whatsoever. The overlap occurs when a Mondegreen does make as in the case of Lady Mondegreen.
